Summary Tongue Types Wheels and Axles |
A popular option is a 4" lift for even more ground clearance. This 4" lift accommodates hitch heights of 22" (top of ball) found on newer motorhomes to alleviate the use of drop hitches which reduces hitch drag. This slightly increases the door-ramp angle when folded down, but most desert toys have no problem with it.
The picture below shows the modified exterior fender with the 4" lift option. When we raise the frame 4" we reposition the fender to maintain the same "tire-fender" clearances, which positions the fender lower on the trailer box.
Our 4" lift provides more room inside with lower fenders that stick up only 4" from the floor versus the standard 8" high interior fenders.
