Many times a simple flatbed trailer may fit your need to haul cars, small tractor, dunebuggy, or quads and motorcycles. Below we show a typical flatbed car hauler. This same trailer can be configured in many way for other purposes. Railing is a popular options for motorcycles and other off-road toys, and of course white paint, or any other color can be chosen too. To support the weight of a typical car we use 2X10 or 2X12 planked floor for the ultimate in strength and durability. Tie-down loops can be custom installed where ever you want to provide the angles you need.
Here you see the arched ramp used on our typical car hauler. Since most cars are too low to clear a normal ramp, the back of our hauler has a dropped tail section, or dove-tail rear. The dropped section here is covered with diamond plate to assist with wet conditions when loading and unloading. Since cars are 3000 to 6000lbs in weight, we include ramp supports to minimize ramp stress and movement during loading.
Here you see the typical winch installation, handy when you can't drive the car up onto the trailer. Surge breaks are convenient to alleviate the need for an electric brake controller on the tow vehicle. |
